BCI Meets with Food Safety Officials in Japan and Korea

This month Bryant Christie Inc. staff led a delegation of U.S. agricultural groups to Japan and Korea to meet with the Japanese Consumer Affairs Agency, the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labor, and Welfare, and the Korean Ministry of Food and Drug Safety to discuss harmonizing pesticide residue standards. The trip was made possible through the USDA Assisting Specialty Crop Exports (ASCE) program.

Leaders in maximum residue level (MRL) issues from the U.S. citrus, blueberry, apple, cherry, almond, potato, hop, raspberry, and cranberry industries took advantage of the opportunity to learn more about the establishment and enforcement of standards in Japan and Korea.

The delegation thanks the USDA ASCE program and the U.S. Embassies in Tokyo and Seoul for making the trip possible.

For over 20 years, BCI has supported U.S. agricultural exporters by managing MRL issues in Japan and Korea. To learn more about the evolution of our trade policy and market access work, click here: Link
