Cienna Reed

Trade Policy Specialist

About

Cienna Reed joined Bryant Christie Inc.’s Seattle office in September 2022 as a Trade Policy Analyst, and was promoted to Trade Policy Specialist in 2024. As part of the firm’s Global Access team, Cienna works to monitor and analyze foreign pesticide regulatory policies and MRL systems around the world and identify the affects they may have on U.S. agricultural exports.

Prior to joining BCI, Cienna worked as a junior investment analyst in international finance and a research consultant for a joint project between Save the Children, Switzerland, and SwissPeace. In her role, she performed policy analysis and produced recommendations to better understand and mitigate violence against migrant children and youth at borders.

Cienna holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations with minors in International Public Policy and French from Virginia Tech University. She also earned a Master’s degree in International and Development Studies, with dual specializations in Mobilities, Migrations, and Boundaries, and Sustainable Trade and Finance, from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies (IHEID) in Geneva, Switzerland. While in graduate school, Cienna focused on the ethics of development and produced a dissertation on the importance of historical analysis for development policy, which was recognized for exceptional research and writing skills and for its contributions to the school of post-development theory.
