Elise Benson joined BCI’s Seattle office in December 2023 as a Financial and Grant Management Assistant. Her primary role is to support BCI’s federal and state grant accounting staff. Prior to this position, Elise worked as an Employment Consultant, aiding individuals with disabilities in securing employment opportunities.
Originally from Maryland, Elise earned her Bachelor of Arts in Economics and International Studies, with a minor in Japanese, from the University of Washington in Seattle. During her time at UW, she interned as a grant analyst at a non-profit, aiding in the evaluation of incoming grant applications for overseas development projects. Additionally, she served as the project manager for a research initiative on Immigration Enforcement in Oregon. In this role, she led a team in analyzing over 900 ICE agency records, contributing valuable insights that culminated in a comprehensive 30-page report and presentation.
