This week, BCI's Matt Lantz joined U.S. and Mexican agriculture officials in Idaho Falls, Idaho, for the Mexican government's audit of the U.S. potato industry. Matt attended on behalf of our clients, the National Potato Council and Potatoes USA.
Mexico opened its market to U.S. fresh potatoes in 2022, after 20 years of market access work by BCI. It has since become a major market for U.S. growers and shippers. Under the market access agreement, Mexican officials visit U.S. growers and shippers to check that they comply with the protocol. The Idaho visit went well, which supports continued access for U.S. fresh potatoes in Mexico.
