On September 7, James Christie and Matt Lantz were pleased to meet with officials from Hong Kong’s Food and Environmental Hygiene Department (FEHD) about Hong Kong’s pesticide maximum residue level policies. The meeting was arranged through the USDA office in Hong Kong. The cordial meeting allowed BCI to better understand how Hong Kong’s FEHD protects Hong Kong consumers and how Hong Kong establishes food safety standards and tests imported product. The information gathered will assist US agricultural exporters better comply with Hong Kong policies and provide healthy food to Hong Kong.
Thank you to FEHD and USDA for the productive discussion.
