Earlier this month, Alinne Oliveira and Cienna Reed attended the 55th Session of the Codex Committee on Pesticide Residues hosted by the FAO/World Health Organization Food Standards Program in Chengdu, China.
During the session, the Codex Committee on Pesticide Residues (CCPR) meet to do their annual review of Codex maximum residue levels (CXLs). These CXLs are internationally agreed food standards covering pesticide residues in or on food and feed and are to be adopted by the Codex Alimentarius Commission. These CXLs are vital as their standards facilitate the export of U.S. products to multiple markets around the world. By attending this session BCI was able to monitor the process for U.S. specialty crop clients.
