BCI on the ground in Washington, D.C.
Claire Little and Eric Rosenberg joined partners in Washington, D.C., on March 16–17 for the U.S. Apple Export Council (USAEC) board meeting and Hill Climb, advancing priorities that support U.S. apple growers and exporters.
During the board meeting, USAEC leadership aligned on strategy for the upcoming marketing year, focused on strengthening export opportunities for growers across key producing states. On Capitol Hill, Claire met with congressional staff to highlight the importance of reliable agricultural labor, maintaining strong export market access, and ensuring specialty crop programs effectively support the industry.
Exports remain critical to the health of the U.S. apple sector. Mexico and Canada - valued at $549 million - are the top markets, and continued engagement is essential to preserving and expanding these relationships. Addressing non-tariff trade barriers in markets such as Japan, the EU, the UK, and Australia will also be key to aligning supply and demand and supporting long-term industry stability.
BCI is proud to support USAEC through executive leadership and strategic guidance, helping ensure U.S. apple exports remain competitive in a dynamic global market.
